Never in my wildest dreams would I think a title as generic as Clown in a Cornfield<\/em> could put such a unique twist on a premise that\u2019s been done to death. What\u2019s more, I never would have expected an adaptation of a young adult novel to be so grisly, over-the-top, and fun. This isn\u2019t a film that reinvents horror by any stretch of the imagination, but if you\u2019re looking for a solid seasonal scare, this is it.<\/p>\n

Released this summer, Clown in a Cornfield<\/em> earns points for its likeable characters, chaotic charm, and Frendo the Clown, my new favorite modern-day slasher antagonist.<\/p>\n

Founder\u2019s Day Prank Takes A Disastrous Turn<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Clown in a Cornfield<\/em> hits the familiar beats of a young adult coming-of-age story. We meet Quinn Maybrook (Katie Douglas), who relocates to Kettle Springs with her father, Glenn (Aaron Abrams), after her mother\u2019s death. Glenn, the town\u2019s new doctor, buries himself in work while Quinn finds trouble with local kids who spend their time producing viral prank videos featuring Frendo the Clown.<\/p>\n
