The post Perry Farrell Says Dave Navarro Has \u201cUnclean Hands\u201d in Response to Jane\u2019s Addiction Lawsuit<\/a> appeared first on Consequence<\/a>.<\/p>\n Perry Farrell<\/a> has filed a legal response to the lawsuit brought against him by his former Jane\u2019s Addiction<\/a> bandmates, listing 35 defenses to the accusations brought against him, including claiming that guitarist Dave Navarro<\/a> has \u201cunclean hands.\u201d<\/p>\n As previously reported, Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins sued Farrell<\/a> back in July regarding the breakup of the band last year, specifically the infamous incident in which Farrell appeared to physically attack Navarro onstage. The three musicians are seeking a minimum in $10 million in damages from Farrell for assault and battery, emotional distress, negligence, and breach of contract, among other allegations.<\/p>\n Farrell quickly sued his ex-bandmates<\/a> in response, citing assault and battery, bullying and harassment, and breach of contract, among other allegations.<\/p>\n In his newly filed legal response to Navarro and company\u2019s lawsuit, as obtained by People<\/a>, Farrell \u201cdenies each and every allegation in the complaint\u201d and affirms that\u00a0 Navarro has not \u201cbeen damaged in any way or in any amount whatsoever.\u201d The singer also states that Navarro \u201cfails to state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action against\u201d him, has \u201cfailed to exercise reasonable care and diligence to mitigate [the] alleged claims and damages,\u201d and has \u201cunclean hands.\u201d<\/p>\n Before you think that \u201cunclean hands\u201d has anything to do with Navarro\u2019s hygiene, it\u2019s actually a term that means \u201ca legal doctrine which is a defense to a complaint, which states that a party who is asking for a judgment cannot have the help of the court if he\/she has done anything unethical in relation to the subject of the lawsuit,\u201d per Law.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Christopher Frost, a lawyer for Navarro,\u00a0 responded to People about Farrell\u2019s latest filing, stating, \u201cOur lawsuit speaks for itself. So does the video. By responding in this way, Mr. Farrell is not taking any formal legal step to stop the litigation. This is consistent with the fact that they have taken no affirmative steps to advance their claims, whether serving discovery or otherwise, and it is consistent with the strength of the claims by Dave, Eric, and Stephen.\u201d<\/p>\n Recent social media posts suggest that Navarro, Avery, and Perkins are making new music together, minus Farrell, as seen in the Instagram photo below.<\/p>\n Farrell, meanwhile, was just announced as one of the performers of an upcoming concert<\/a> in Los Angeles celebrating the 60th anniversary of legendary band The Doors.<\/p>\n Popular Posts<\/p>\n
