Robert Irwin believes he\u2019s in over his head after joining this year\u2019s competition of Dancing with the Stars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The hit reality competition<\/a> is days away from returning and the wildlife conservationist is amongst the Hollywood<\/a> stars gearing up to take the dance floor.<\/p>\n

Robert started off on the wrong foot during rehearsals this week as he ended up collapsing and hyperventilating<\/a>. Now the nerves are getting to him and he isn\u2019t being shy about expressing that.<\/p>\n

While speaking to People<\/a>, he revealed just how out of his element he really is.<\/p>\n

“Look, if you think you\u2019re bad at dancing, multiply that by 100!” he said. “I\u2019ve never tried it, I don\u2019t wear sequins, I\u2019m not in this world at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Robert spends most of his time at his family\u2019s world famous zoo in Australia<\/a>. If he\u2019s not working, he\u2019s still far from the dance floor, \u201csurfing, skydiving, skateboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite his uncomfortability with the task, he is also getting a kick out of it all.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s super new, and it\u2019s terrifying, but it\u2019s also awesome. It\u2019s an adrenaline rush. I feel like I live for adrenaline. I\u2019m not really living if I\u2019m not on the edge just a little bit,\u201d he mentioned.<\/p>\n

“I was just born to be wild,” he added.<\/p>\n

The conservationist shared why he is \u201chappy to immerse myself in something new.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe very nature of life is fleeting. We don\u2019t know what tomorrow holds, so you have to take calculated risks, you have to have fun, enjoy what you\u2019re doing, and give everything 100 percent,\u201d he explained. But you also have to be sensible about it \u2014 my family always tries to remind me of that!” He exclaimed.<\/p>\n

Not only is he competing for the risk factor, Robert is also planning to use the platform to spread the word about his line of work.<\/p>\n

He pointed out, “I see firsthand habitat destruction, poaching, fires through climate change<\/a> that are wiping out millions of acres of land. I see koalas that are dying off in numbers we’ve never seen before.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel a great responsibility as an advocate to shine a light on that, and to try and lead with a sense of positivity,\u201d he concluded. \u201cYes, here are all the terrible things happening, but there’s still time. We can fix it.”<\/p>\n

While the hit reality competition isn\u2019t set to return until Sept. 16, the full cast was announced on the Sept. 3 episode of Good Morning America.<\/p>\n

Along with Robert, Alix Earlie, Hilaria Baldwin, Witney Leavitt and Jen Affleck are amongst the season\u2019s contestants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
