LITTLE ROCK, Ark. \u2013 Richard Thomas, known for his role as John-Boy Walton in \u201cThe Waltons,\u201d will be playing prolific American writer Mark Twain in \u201cMark Twain Tonight\u201d at the Robinson Center.<\/p>\n
Thomas highlighted some aspects of why he enjoys portraying Twain.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe things that he was talking about and thinking about in the late 19th Century and early 20th Century are the same things we are talking about right now,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cHe does it with such provocation, and such gusto, and such a sense of fun that he is a great character to spend about an hour and a half with.\u201d<\/p>\n
Emmy Award-winner Richard Thomas to star in \u2018Mark Twain Tonight\u2019 <\/a><\/p>\n He also spoke with KARK 4 News about his six-decade career on stage as well as on film and television.<\/p>\n Thomas is the second to hold the role of Mark Twain, with the first being Hal Holbrook, who won a Tony Award for his depiction of Twain in 1966.<\/p>\n \u201cMark Twain Tonight\u201d will be playing at the Robinson Center from Sept. 12 -14.
