Demi Lovato<\/strong><\/a> just dropped the song and music video for her latest single \u201cHere All Night\u201d!<\/p>\n The 33-year-old\u2019s new track is the second release from her upcoming ninth studio album, following \u201cFast<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n In a recent interview, she dished on the song and the inspiration for the music video, which reunited her with Hannah Lux Davis<\/strong>, who also directed \u201cCool for the Summer,\u201d \u201cSorry Not Sorry\u201d and more. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out what she said\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Here All Night\u2019 is about a breakup, but I didn\u2019t write it about an actual breakup. I made it up. And that was a part of this album that was a little challenging for me was how do I write songs about breakups when I just got married? How do I write songs about this or that?\u201d Demi<\/strong> spilled of the song on the Just Trish Podcast<\/a><\/em>. \u201cAnd it\u2019s like sometimes I was like, you know what, let me just, with that song in particular, I was like, let me just like channel, you know, someone that just went through a breakup, and I don\u2019t relate to it at all, but like I\u2019m going to almost play a character while writing that day. And I wrote that song and it turned out awesome and I\u2019m so glad that I put on that character in order to get the song out.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut it was a new experience for me because so much of my past has been about writing from \u2013 writing was always a cathartic or therapeutic experience for me. And this time I\u2019m like, you know what? I\u2019m going to write a song about a breakup today. And it\u2019s not necessarily true, but I don\u2019t care,\u201d she added. \u201cSomeone\u2019s going to relate to it. And with art, you get to try on different hats and play different characters and it\u2019s so fun. And that is amazing to be able to be a character and feel, and have other people relate to it even if you\u2019re not there.\u201d<\/p>\n
