a new interview with Vanity Fair<\/a>, the actor said he had the opportunity to star in a remake of what is now considered a Disney classic.\n <\/p>\n\n \u201cOne of the biggest mistakes of my career: Guillermo del Toro wanted to do \u2018Beauty and the Beast\u2019, his version of the Beast,\u201d Tatum told the publication.\n <\/p>\n
\n The timing was not ideal, Tatum said, as he had \u201cjust had a baby.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cI was on a movie that was absolutely killing me, and the script wasn\u2019t totally there yet,\u201d he recalled. \u201cI was just in a place in my head that I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t think I can do this right now.\u2019\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Tatum didn\u2019t reveal that name of the movie he was doing at the time. He has one child, daughter, Everly, whom he shares with ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, who was born in 2013.\n <\/p>\n
\n He now deeply regrets not getting to star in a remake of the 1991 film.\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cIt was the biggest mistake, because I\u2019m the biggest Guillermo fan ever,\u201d Tatum said. \u201cAnd I think Guillermo doing Beauty and the Beast would\u2019ve been the sickest movie ever.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n Tatum noted the del Torro never made the movie.\n <\/p>\n
