As of this week, all 27 of the band\u2019s studio albums \u2013 as well as their 2011 EP Willoughby\u2019s Beach<\/em>, their live albums Chunky Shrapnel<\/em> and Live In San Francisco \u201916<\/em>, and their 2022 remix album Butterfly 3001 <\/em>\u2013 are up on the band\u2019s Bandcamp<\/a> at the pay-what-you-want \u201cname your price\u201d setting.<\/p>\n This means that you can access high-quality digital downloads of the band\u2019s entire canon for nothing \u2013 although, if you pay a minimum of $1, the album is added to your personal Bandcamp collection and can be streamed in perpetuity (or an endless loop, Nonagon Infinity<\/em> style) on the Bandcamp app. The entire catalogue can be perused now by visiting KingGizzard.Bandcamp.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n King Gizzard\u2019s Bandcamp page was formerly host to their extensive bootlegs, which is now numbered at a staggering 64 following the release of the 69-track triple album Live At Field Of Vision \u201925<\/em> last week (September 4th). They have all now been migrated to a separate Bandcamp account, dubbed Bootleg Gizzard \u2013 wherein \u201cindie labels, bootleggers, fans [and] weirdos\u201d are encouraged, should they so desire, to release these live albums (and the Polygondwanaland<\/em> album) themselves. \u201cFeel free to get creative with it if you like \u2013 it\u2019s yours,\u201d the band writes on the page \u2013 check it out here<\/a>.<\/p>\n This is the latest anarchic move by the Melbourne psych-rock sextet with regards to their back catalogue, following their removal of it<\/a> from Spotify<\/a> earlier this year. \u201cA PSA for those unaware: Spotify CEO\u00a0Daniel Ek<\/a>\u00a0invests millions in AI military drone technology,\u201d the band wrote at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just removed our music from the platform. Black Emperor, Hotline TNT, Young Widows, WU LFY, and Dr. Sure\u2019s Unusual Practice are just some of the acts to have followed suit \u2013 with GY!BE going one further and removing their music from all platforms entirely.<\/p>\n Speaking to The Los Angeles Times<\/em> last month<\/a>, bandleader Stu Mackenzie said the band\u2019s decision to pull themselves from the platform was based on \u201creasons which are well documented\u201d in regards to Spotify itself. \u201cI don\u2019t expect Daniel Ek to pay attention to this,\u201d Mackenzie said. \u201cWe have made a lot of experimental moves with the way we\u2019ve released records \u2014 bootlegging stuff for free.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have allowed ourselves a license to break conventions, and the people who listen to our music have a trust and a faith to go along on this ride together. I feel grateful to have the sort of fan base you\u2019ll just trust, even when you do something a little counterintuitive.
