{"id":2016188,"date":"2025-09-12T08:28:36","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2016188"},"modified":"2025-09-12T08:28:36","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:28:36","slug":"the-team-behind-bst-in-hyde-park-announce-huge-new-roundhay-festival-in-leeds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/the-team-behind-bst-in-hyde-park-announce-huge-new-roundhay-festival-in-leeds\/","title":{"rendered":"The team behind BST in Hyde Park announce huge new &#8216;Roundhay Festival&#8217; in Leeds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A huge new music festival has been announced for Leeds\u2019 Roundhay Park by the team behind <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/festivals\/british-summer-time-bst-festival\">BST Hyde Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Set to become a central fixture of the north of England\u2019s cultural calendar, a press release for the new festival promised it will host some of the music world\u2019s biggest names, with the first headliner set to be announced soon.<\/p>\n<p>The legendary Roundhay Park has already got a storied history with live music, having played host to the likes of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/michael-jackson\">Michael Jackson<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/madonna\">Madonna<\/a>, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/the-rolling-stones\">The Rolling Stones<\/a> and, most recently, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/ed-sheeran\">Ed Sheeran<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in collaboration with Leeds City Council, Roundhay Festival will deliver a sizable economic boost to the local area, and will also run a midweek programme of free-to-access<br \/>activities for all ages, offering high-quality arts, culture and wellbeing activities as well as providing a platform for local talent at the park during the summer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Rolling Stones - Shattered - Live At Roundhay Park, Leeds \/ 1982\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oNJETLKB70c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, said the park was a \u201cfabulous setting\u201d for concerts, adding that the festival would \u201cact as a wonderful showcase\u201d for the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe park is a fabulous setting for concerts, as legendary artists like Madonna, U2 and the Rolling Stones will know from their own fondly-remembered appearances there,\u201d he continued. \u201cIt\u2019s also a much-loved part of the fabric of life in Leeds, so it\u2019s fitting that this event will be doing as much as possible to support local vendors, suppliers and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoundhay Festival will act as a wonderful showcase for our city, raising its profile with national and international audiences while delivering an important boost to the local economy.
