The father-son duo from British Columbia (made up of Johnny P. Johnson and Javan Johnson) have built a reputation in Canada\u2019s alt-country and roots scene, blending family harmonies with stories that bridge generations. But with \u201cCountry Thing,\u201d they\u2019ve decided to tip their cowboy hats firmly toward country music while keeping their authentic Son of John style intact.<\/p>\n
\u201cCountry Thing\u201d has been a long time coming. Johnny originally wrote the song about a decade ago, and he admits it\u2019s not meant to be overly serious:<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s really not that deep \u2026 it\u2019s just a song about a country boy meeting a city girl. The girl didn\u2019t want anything to do with that \u2018country thing,\u2019 but like any good country boy he was irresistible, and she became countrified, trading in the Porsche for a big F-350.\u201d \u2013 Johnny<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
