Jay-Z<\/a> sees his multibillion-dollar Times Square casino plans<\/a> as \u201can extension of the energy and action that makes New York the city it is,\u201d noting in a new interview that he believes the idea simply \u201cmakes perfect sense.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking with Ralph R. Ortega<\/a> for City & State<\/em>, the Roc Nation<\/a> founder pointed to the Caesars Palace Times Square partnership with SL Green as an example of an opportunity with the potential to \u201cshift culture while uplifting communities.\u201d As for the locale, Jay argued the casino space \u201cdoesn\u2019t compete with Times Square\u201d but instead \u201ccomplements it.\u201d<\/p>\n Jay isn\u2019t alone in his plans. As previously reported<\/a>, three potential licenses in the area are up for grabs, but Jay believes his \u201cmakes the most sense\u201d for NYC. He has, however, faced pushback<\/a> over the proposal.
