Legendary British rockers The Rolling Stones are apparently \u201cnearly done\u201d with their new album, according to Keith Richard\u2019s son Marlon.<\/p>\n
The band released their 24th studio record, \u2018Hackney Diamonds<\/strong><\/a>\u2019, in 2023 \u2013 which featured the last recordings of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021<\/strong><\/a>. It was their first full-length album of new songs since 2005\u2019s \u2018A Bigger Bang\u2019 and became their fourteenth UK number-one album. <\/p>\n During an interview for the Rolling Stones edition of\u00a0Record Collector<\/strong><\/a>, Marlon Richards – Keith\u2019s first child with the actress and model Anita Pallenberg – was asked what the group were up to at the moment.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re in town right now, recording,\u201d he responded. \u201cThey\u2019re in Chiswick or somewhere like that; I think they\u2019re nearly done. They still maintain these ridiculous hours: after lunch until two in the morning. We\u2019ve got more like that if you want\u2026\u2019. I think they\u2019re doing the follow-up.\u201d<\/p>\n Indeed, \u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019 earned the band the Best Rock Album at the 2025 Grammys<\/strong><\/a> (their fifth if you include 1987\u2019s Lifetime Achievement Grammy), and it seems to have energized them.<\/p>\n Still, the news of a follow-up record may not be completely surprising, as Jagger told\u00a0The New York Times<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0that he wouldn\u2019t consider ‘Hackney Diamonds’ to be the \u201clast Rolling Stones album\u201d.
