Raul Malo has shared devastating news<\/a> with his fans.<\/p>\n On Thursday, Sept. 11, hit country music band The Mavericks took to Instagram<\/a> to share they will be cancelling their upcoming weekend of shows.<\/p>\n It turns out the lead singer, who recently shared his \u201cfears\u201d of being deported,\u201d<\/a> and his battle with colon cancer<\/a> are the reason the band will not be hitting the road this weekend.<\/p>\n The band wrote, \u201cDue to the circumstances of his current medical condition, Raul\u2019s medical team has instructed him not to be on the road this weekend.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a result we\u2019ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel this weekend\u2019s performances in New Haven, Verona & Boston.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The shows will go on as planned, just not with the band as the nights\u2019 special guests.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile Raul continues the long road to recovery, we hope you\u2019ll still enjoy an incredible night of music with our great friends Dwight Yoakam and opener Phillip Bowen!\u201d<\/p>\n They concluded, \u201cWe sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your continued support during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n The Mavericks were set to join Dwight on the road for his Cosmic Round Up & Rodeo tour.
