Days after landing the biggest audition of her acting career, Shannon failed to show up for a family gathering, leaving her loved ones in a panic.<\/p>\n

As investigators dig deeper, unsettling details emerge\u00a0that change the direction of the investigation. \u201cDateline\u201d correspondent Keith Morrison interviews Shannon\u2019s mother, Lisa Madill, sister Erin Madill, brother Tyler Madill and detectives Christina Witt and Ian Wallace.<\/p>\n

It began, the nightmare, just after this audition. A blizzard had blown through town.<\/p>\n

ERIN MADILL<\/strong>: You fear the worst, but you hope for the best.<\/p>\n

Each day that went by was worse. Her family, suspended in a never-ending state of dread.<\/p>\n

ERIN MADILL<\/strong>: My biggest nightmare was that she was locked in a basement and being hurt. It became all-consuming for me.<\/p>\n

LISA MADILL:<\/strong> You start to wonder if this is just gonna be a giant mystery for the rest of your life.<\/p>\n

Possible clues would start to appear.<\/p>\n

CHRISTINA WITT<\/strong>: Why is her phone moving when no one\u2019s seen her at that point?<\/p>\n

Then, a secret of sorts. A secret that would take the investigation in a new direction.<\/p>\n

CHRISTINA WITT<\/strong>: I knocked on the door, knocked on the door. No answer. We could hear a movement, so we knew someone was inside.<\/p>\n
