Nina Dobrev and Shaun White<\/a> have officially called it quits.<\/p>\n On Sept. 11, a source revealed to People<\/a> that the \u201cThe Vampire Diaries\u201d actress and the former snowboarder and skateboarder have ended their engagement and broken up after five years together.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a mutual decision, and wasn\u2019t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,\u201d the source told the outlet.<\/p>\n Their breakup news comes less than two weeks after they were last spotted together holding hands in Los Angeles while running errands on Aug. 31.<\/p>\n However, on Sept. 7, Dobrev appeared on the red carpet for the \u201cEternity\u201d <\/i>premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, and her engagement ring was nowhere to be seen. <\/p>\n Dobrev, 36, and White, 39, first sparked romance rumors in late 2019 and moved in together at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their first Instagram photo<\/a> together showed Dobrev giving White a haircut in quarantine in May 2020.<\/p>\n Throughout the years, the couple made many red carpet appearances together at various Hollywood events.
