Anna Wintour has finally shared how she feels about The Devil Wears Prada.<\/p>\n
The 2006 movie \u2014 which was based on a novel written by Wintour\u2019s former assistant Lauren Weisberger \u2014 featured Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, the editor of the fictional Runway magazine. Runway was long rumored to be based on Vogue, and Priestly, Wintour. Wintour, who served as the editor of Vogue for 37 years, had often glossed over the movie when it was brought into conversation.<\/p>\n
But in an episode of New Yorker\u2019s official podcast<\/a> published Wednesday, September 10, Wintour finally revealed her thoughts on the movie.<\/p>\n She admitted that she attended the premiere of the movie \u201cwearing Prada, completely having no idea what the film was going to be about.\u201d Wintour also noted that some of her peers expressed concern for her. \u201cI think that the fashion industry were very sweetly concerned for me about the film, that it was going to paint me in some kind of difficult light.\u201d<\/p>\n COMPLEX SHOP:<\/b> Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n Despite the alleged portrayal of Wintour, the movie sat well with the famed journalist.<\/p>\n \u201cI found it highly enjoyable,\u201d Wintour said. \u201cIt was very funny. Miuccia [Prada] and I talk about it a lot, and I say to her: \u2018Well, it was really good for you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Wintour continued, saying that The Devil Wears Prada \u201chad a lot of humor to it. It had a lot of wit. It had Meryl Streep. I mean, it was Emily Blunt, [and] they were all amazing. In the end, I thought it was a fair shot.\u201d<\/p>\n Wintour stepped down as Vogue\u2019s editor-in-chief and is now serving as Chief Content Officer of Cond\u00e9 Nast.
