When Blake Shelton<\/strong> and Gwen Stefani<\/strong> aren\u2019t busy writing and singing songs together, they are spending time tending to their latest collaborative project \u2014 a beautiful garden.<\/p>\n In a new Instagram story<\/a> posted on Stefani\u2019s page on Friday, Sept. 12, the married couple revealed they are in the beginning processes of creating a purple iris garden, which has been years in the making.<\/p>\n \u201cMe + Blake started our purple iris garden project today. Day 1\u2026more updates soon. Gx,\u201d a caption reads over the video, which features Stefani, 55, running the camera as she shows viewers the boxes that have arrived before joining her hubby Shelton, 49, inside what looks to be a greenhouse.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have been planning on doing this project together for years. Irises are about ready to plant. Come along with us,\u201d Stefani tells viewers, while looking comfortable in a pair of sunnies and a sweater with her hair pulled back into a ponytail.<\/p>\n \u201cNow, we\u2019re attempting to make an iris garden, where I\u2019ll take you. So you can see it. And, when I say we, I mean Blake. It\u2019s gigantic. And, we bought thousands of varieties,\u201d the \u201cHollaback Girl\u201d singer shares as she points out the fresh soil bed and sunny location for the fragrant perennial flowers, which will presumably grow at the country star\u2019s Oklahoma ranch, near the town of Tishomingo.<\/p>\n Shelton, dressed in a ball cap and tan-colored work shirt, chimes in, saying, \u201cInstead of buying a hundred of one or two kinds, you bought one or two kinds of a thousand.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis calls for a drink,\u201d he adds, before Stefani reminds him that it\u2019s too early for alcohol.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s just overwhelming because there are so many names,\u201d she says about the flowers before updating followers on the couple\u2019s progress. \u201cLabeled and laid out. Now we\u2019ve gotta plant them. Anyone wanna help us?\u201d<\/p>\n After jumping in the tractor with Shelton, Stefani laughs and insinuates that she and her man may be a little in over their heads with the “overwhelming” project.<\/p>\n \u201cAt this point, we\u2019re kind of wondering if we\u2019ve made the right decision. It\u2019s so over the top,\u201d the pop superstar says before Shelton adds, \u201cFour hours so far and we haven\u2019t even put the first one in the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n After a hard day’s work in the field, Stefani asks Shelton, \u201cWhat do you think of the work you did today?\u201d To which he answers, \u201cAnything I do after 4:00 p.m. is not my fault.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe put in a full day’s work, and we\u2019re gonna come back and do the rest tomorrow morning,\u201d Stefani tells folks before ending the video.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, Shelton, who seems to be in the headspace of planting for the fall season, took to his Instagram page, telling fans that he was \u201creally doing it\u201d while outdoors on his Oklahoma ranch.<\/p>\n “It is September, we’re coming on fall, and that means one thing to me \u2013 it’s time to start planting some fall food plots,” he shared.<\/p>\n Shelton and Stefani, who is mother to three sons,\u00a0Kingston<\/strong>, Zuma<\/strong>, and Apollo<\/strong>, from her previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale<\/strong>, tied the knot in a private chapel on July 21, 2021, after six years of dating.
