Country music\u2019s \u201cMan of Steel,\u201d Robby Turner, has died. <\/p>\n
He was 63.<\/p>\n
Turner passed away on Sept. 4.<\/p>\n

Turner might not be a name that is known by everyone in the mainstream, but he had an iconic career, nonetheless. He was remembered for his time playing the steel guitar for the legendary Waylon Jennings. Taste of Country said<\/b><\/a> that Turner played on nine of Waylon\u2019s albums from the mid-1970s through the early 2010s. <\/p>\n The outlet said that Turner\u2019s resume also included working with the likes of Vince Gill, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Prine, Tanya Tucker, Randy Travis and Loretta Lyn to name a few.<\/p>\n For fans of more modern country, some of Turner\u2019s last work, per Taste of Country, came on Chris Stapleton\u2019s 2017 \u201cFrom a Room: Volume 1.\u201d<\/p>\n Turner and Waylon were particularly close, and he talked about that in a 2012 interview with Texas Monthly. Turner told the outlet that he \u201cnever wanted to play again,\u201d after the legendary signer\u2019s death.<\/p>\n \u201cI stayed in bed a week,\u201d he said. \u201cI canceled everything.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I had to come around to, as a believer, is that Waylon\u2019s in my future, not my past,\u201d he said. \u201cI look forward to seeing him again as much as anything in my life.
