Bryan Cranston<\/a> isn\u2019t a psilocybin user; he just plays one on TV. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> <\/em>last week, the actor said he and Catherine O\u2019Hara<\/a> tried microdosing ahead of their roles in The Studio<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Fans of the Apple TV+<\/a> comedy will recall \u2014 spoiler alert! \u2014 that Griffin Mill, Cranston\u2019s studio chief, had a bad trip in Las Vegas ahead of his CinemaCon presentation.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m playing this character who is wiped out, and I had never had any experience in that \u2014 not many drugs at all, as a matter of fact \u2014 and so I didn\u2019t know really how to behave,\u201d Cranston told Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> on Wednesday. \u201cSo I was asking [The Studio<\/em> costars] Seth Rogen<\/a> and Ike Barinholtz<\/a>, \u2018You guys are huge druggies! What can you tell me?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Rogen and Barinholtz, who are also two of The Studio<\/em>\u2019s creators, suggested microdosing as a starting point.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were in Las Vegas shooting this crazy show with Seth Rogen, and we all decided to go to the Sphere to see the Grateful Dead<\/a>,\u201d Cranston said. \u201cIf God wasn\u2019t telling me to do microdosing, what was he telling me?\u201d<\/p>\n Cranston said he and O\u2019Hara were \u201cnervous\u201d and \u201cclutching each other\u201d as they weighed whether they\u2019d actually go through with it, but Barinholtz assured them the experience was \u201cnot gonna be anything.\u201d<\/p>\n Ultimately, Barinholtz gave Cranston and O\u2019Hara \u201cthese little, thin, square chocolates,\u201d and Cranston consumed half of one of the wafers.<\/p>\n <\/a> ‘The Studio’ Boss Reveals Inspiration for ‘Casting’ Episode & How It’s True to Hollywood<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Related<\/p>\n \u201cI took it \u2014 nothing<\/em>,\u201d the actor said. \u201cI didn\u2019t feel anything.\u201d<\/p>\n And consuming a bit more didn\u2019t help. \u201cIt felt like maybe I took three sips of wine. It was nothing! Nothing!<\/em>\u201d Cranston said.<\/p>\n \u201cSo you really are a great actor, it turns out, because that was all acting,\u201d Kimmel said of the tripping scene in The Studio<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was acting.
