M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/a> kicked off their Las Vegas residency<\/a> at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Friday night (September 12th), marking their first show since singer Vince Neil<\/a> suffered a stroke last Christmas.<\/p>\n

The residency was originally was supposed to take place this past spring, but was postponed due to a then-undisclosed medical issue affecting Neil. This week, the singer revealed in an interview that he suffered a a stroke<\/a> at Christmastime of last year, and was told by doctors that he may never perform again.<\/p>\n

While Neil did return to the stage for a solo show<\/a> in early August, last night\u2019s Vegas gig marked M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce\u2019s first concert in nearly a year.<\/p>\n

The band kicked off the performance with \u201cToo Fast for Love\u201d on a no-frills stage, paying tribute to their early years as a club band. Shortly thereafter, the full elaborate stage setup was revealed, as the Cr\u00fce played a career-spanning 14-song set that included classics like \u201cShout at the Devil,\u201d \u201cHome Sweet Home,\u201d \u201cDr. Feelgood,\u201d and the set-closer \u201cKickstart My Heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Throughout the evening, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee shared stories about the songs and the band, while guitarist John 5 was given the spotlight with a blistering guitar solo in the middle of the set.<\/p>\n

Fan-filmed video footage shows Neil moving a bit gingerly, but powering through the songs vocally as he reached his familiar upper register.<\/p>\n
