\n\tThe Foo Fighters<\/a> are gearing up for their first live performance with new drummer Ilan Rubin.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Dave Grohl<\/a>-led rockers made a surprise announcement on Friday night (Sept. 12), revealing that they\u2019re playing an all-ages show at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, California, on Saturday (Sept. 13).<\/p>\n \n\tThe intimate gig at the 900-capacity venue will mark the band\u2019s first official performance with Rubin, the former Nine Inch Nails drummer who joined the group earlier this summer.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cSOUND ON. See you Saturday in San Luis Obispo,\u201d the Foo Fighters wrote on Instagram<\/a> alongside a show poster.<\/p>\n \n\tFans also quickly noticed a teaser of what seems to be a newly recorded track \u2014 and judging by the reaction, they\u2019re fully on board with the riff-heavy sound. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cYeeees this is the sound we like \u2026 Good heavy riffs! The boys are back to what they\u2019re good at and it feels good!!\u201d one fan commented<\/p>\n \n\tOthers speculated that the song may have roots in the band\u2019s past live sets.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThey played this in-between All My Life in Birmingham a couple years ago. Glad they\u2019re putting it out soon!\u201d a fan noted. Another added, \u201cIt\u2019s definitely not live yep. Maybe they didn\u2019t wanna do it exactly the way they\u2019d jammed it live? But the similarities are definitely there. It\u2019s the 30th anniversary of the band this year, maybe they\u2019re gonna release new versions of old songs? But it\u2019s undeniably got All My Life influences here. Maybe it\u2019ll be like a KISS \u2013 Sonic Boom scenario. Who knows.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn the days leading up to Saturday\u2019s San Luis Obispo show, Foo Fighters dropped a pair of cryptic teasers on social media, including a nod to \u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic<\/a>, who recorded his parody song \u201cMy Bologna\u201d on the city\u2019s Cal Poly campus in 1979. They also shared a photo that appeared to show Grohl wearing a T-shirt<\/a> from Boo Boo Records, a beloved local record store.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Foo Fighters has been off the road since September 2024 and is set to return to the stage<\/a> with upcoming shows in Indonesia (Oct. 2), Singapore (Oct. 4), Japan (Oct. 7, 8, 10) and Mexico City (Nov. 14).<\/p>\n \n\tThe band released their 11th studio album, But Here We Are<\/em>, in 2023, marking their first new music following the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. The act also marked its 30th anniversary in July with the release of a new track titled \u201cToday\u2019s Song.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
