Over the last two weeks, though, a picture of the sci-fi series\u2014which reunites Gilligan with Saul\u00a0star Rhea Seehorn\u2014has begun to emerge, as Gilligan has ladled out a few character and plot details to hungry interrogators. That includes a basic logline for the series, which its <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/articles\/vince-gilligan-rhea-seehorn-reunite-150031815.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:early teasers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">early teasers<\/a> very deliberately didn\u2019t hint at, revealing that it takes place in a world where a virus suddenly makes everyone extremely (one might say suspiciously) optimistic and happy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The exception is Seehorn\u2019s character, Carol Sturka, a romance novelist who Gilligan described, in <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/1211741\/pluribus-vince-gilligan-interview-rhea-seehorn-character-name-explained\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:a conversation with\u00a0TV Insider;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">a conversation with\u00a0TV Insider<\/a>, as \u201cthe most miserable person in the world who decides she needs to save Earth from happiness.\u201d Gilligan notes that his story, which he\u2019s been kicking around for years, takes influence from\u00a0Invasion Of The Body Snatchers\u00a0and\u00a0The Twilight Zone\u2014including taking Carol\u2019s last name from apocalyptic 1960 classic <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/the-twilight-zone-the-four-of-us-are-dying-third-fr-1798170165\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:\u201cThird From The Sun.\u201d;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">\u201cThird From The Sun.\u201d<\/a> Gilligan paints the character (who he originally conceived as male, before hitting on the idea of using the series as an opportunity to reunite with Seehorn) as a reluctant hero, saying, \u201cCarol does not want to be tasked with saving the world, but no one else is rising to the occasion. She goes on a quest to the other side of the world trying to save it from a crisis that in her mind is apocalyptic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A lot of these latest comments line up with stuff Gilligan <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/vince-gilligan-pluribus-preview-rhea-seehorn-better-call-saul-easter-eggs-exclusive-photos-11798834\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:said to\u00a0Entertainment Weekly\u00a0two weeks ago;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">said to\u00a0Entertainment Weekly\u00a0two weeks ago<\/a>, when he first rolled out the show\u2019s basic premise. That has included repeated requests for people not to freak out about the fact that the series is once again set in Albuquerque, even if he can\u2019t help but leave an Easter egg or two to his previous work in. \u201cI\u2019m sure maybe a lot of folks are going to say, \u2018There\u2019s got to be some deeper secret point to that. She\u2019s really Kim Wexler,\u2019 or whatnot. She\u2019s not. I love Albuquerque. I love my crew, I love the people. I love the landscape. It looks fantastic on film. There might be some Easter eggs along the way, [but] I can\u2019t imagine Carol running into Kim Wexler. That would be pretty weird.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Which feels like it would be fairly obvious\u2014it\u2019s hard to imagine Gilligan taking the mostly-grounded criminal universe he and his collaborators spent 14 years crafting and suddenly throwing it into a sci-fi apocalypse\u2014but this is the kind of thing some people need to be told, apparently.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Pluribus\u00a0premieres on November 7 on Apple TV+.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/articles\/article-type\/features\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:More from A.V.
