That\u2019s a wrap on Practical Magic 2<\/em>!<\/p>\n The movie\u2019s star, Nicole Kidman<\/strong><\/a>, shared a celebratory Instagram post<\/a> on Saturday, September 13, announcing that filming on the long-awaited follow-up to the 1998 movie Practical Magic<\/em> has concluded.<\/p>\n “That\u2019s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2!” Kidman, 58, captioned the post. “Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic \u2728.”<\/p>\n Kidman also shared a video of herself and costar Sandra Bullock<\/strong><\/a> walking in a field as sunshine streams around them. Bullock, 61, can be heard commenting, \u201cProfile shot? Profile shot!\u201d as Kidman laughs in the footage.<\/p>\n Warner Bros. announced that the sequel was in production in 2024. Kidman confirmed her participation<\/a> in the film in a June 2024 interview with People<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u2018Practical Magic\u2019 Sequel Is in the Works, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Talks to Return<\/a><\/p>\n “Yes I will be in it. And Sandy will be in it. And that’s that,” she told the outlet at the time. “There’s a lot more to tell which is why we go, ‘OK, this is kind of interesting now to be able to do this.'”<\/p>\n Warner Bros. later confirmed the movie will be released in theaters on September 18, 2026.<\/p>\n The 1998 original starred Kidman and Bullock as sisters who are trained in witchcraft by their aunts after their parents die from the result of a seemingly unbreakable family curse.<\/p>\n Both actresses have had nothing but praise for the original movie. While reuniting at the 2018 Academy Award red carpet, Kidman said, \u201cI love that movie. I showed that movie to my kids. It\u2019s a little above their [level of understanding] \u2026 But we\u2019re really good sisters.\u201d<\/p>\n Bullock also took the chance to clarify some of the lore surrounding the famous midnight margaritas scene.<\/p>\n \u201cWe weren\u2019t drunk when we shot these parts or when we did our close-ups,\u201d she said. \u201cBut we had to reshoot a scene where it was far away and we were on our backs and Nicole just put the bottle on the table and said, \u2018You know what? There\u2019s no reason we shouldn\u2019t be drunk here.\u2019 And I said, \u2018You know what? That\u2019s true.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Kidman shared a sneak peek at the upcoming sequel in July 2025, much to fans’ delight. \u201cThe witches are back \u2728 Owens sisters\u2019 first day on set!\u201d she captioned a reel shared via Instagram.<\/p>\n The new movie was shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England as well as in London.
