Billie Piper has hinted at an upcoming “musical” film project.<\/p>\n
The accomplished actress and singer from Swindon discussed her new venture in an interview with Glamour, hinting at a movie that combines her acting and singing talents.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the magazine, she said: “I\u2019m probably not going to go back into music but I\u2019ve been thinking recently about how I could merge the worlds.<\/p>\n
“I love dancing, and want to find if there is a way for me to dance and sing but not live, and have it sort of married with a movie.<\/p>\n
“So basically a musical.”<\/p>\n
She further revealed her plans to direct a film next year.<\/p>\n
Read more<\/strong><\/p>\n She told Glamour: “I\u2019ve just written a film that I hope to direct next year.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s heavy but I want to score it with dance music.<\/p>\n “To me, there is no difference between dance music and classical music except the beat.<\/p>\n “It still moves you in the same way.”<\/p>\n This new project seems to be a perfect fit for Piper, who has a rich history of success in both music and acting.<\/p>\n She first rose to fame as a pop star, before moving on to acting, where she has had great success in series like Doctor Who and I Hate Suzie.<\/p>\n She is also part of the cast for season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday, where she plays Capri, a werewolf and musical teacher.<\/p>\n In the interview, she also reminisced about her time at performing arts school, which she says ignited her passion for singing and dancing.<\/p>\n She said: “It was so fun.<\/p>\n “I remember being in awe of the talent, especially the vocal ability.<\/p>\n “We only had to do school work for three days a week and the rest of the time it was singing, dancing and acting.”<\/p>\n Born in Swindon, Billie Piper grew up in the area, attended Bradon Forest School in Purton before moving to London at the age of 12.<\/p>\n She starred as Belle de Jour in the drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl, as Brona Croft in series Penny Dreadful and as Karen Mars in Netflix Original series Collateral (2018), for which she was nominated for a British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress.<\/p>\n
