The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/a><\/em>, <\/em>based on the books by Jenny Han (To All the Boys I\u2019ve Loved Before<\/em>), has quickly become a cultural phenomenon<\/a>. The series follows Isabel \u201cBelly\u201d Conklin (Lola Tung) who finds herself in a sticky love triangle with her childhood friend Conrad (Christopher Briney) and his younger brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). The third season, originally planned as the series finale, is now streaming on Prime Video, but fans are still eager for more of the story. Will there be a season 4 of The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em>?<\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, no\u2014but for good reason. The series is based on Jenny Han\u2019s trilogy of novels (The Summer I Turned Pretty, It\u2019s Not Summer Without You, <\/em>and We\u2019ll Always Have Summer<\/em>). Each season of the show likely corresponds to a book in the series, so with three books in total, it makes sense that the show would end at season 3.<\/p>\n

But wait\u2014what about a spinoff?<\/h2>\n

Han has said that she\u2019s open to exploring more of TSITP<\/em> universe, whether that\u2019s an eventual sequel or even a spinoff series.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever say never,\u201d she told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201c<\/em>I never do. If the story is there, then I\u2019m there. As a storyteller, you just get hit with inspiration all the time. If I had a really great idea that I was excited by, that I wanted to keep telling the story, and if [the stars] were excited to do it, then I would be so pumped. It really depends on if I feel like there is more story to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI love working with all these guys, that\u2019s at the core of it. I would always welcome working with them on this, or something else. Who knows what the future holds?\u201d<\/p>\n

Tung shares Han\u2019s love for the cast, and would also be open to returning should the opportunity ever arise. \u201cI love working with this group of people and I love working with Jenny,\u201d she said<\/a>. \u201cI think it\u2019s such a privilege to be any part of her cinematic universe, so if I was ever asked, I\u2019m there.\u201d<\/p>\n
