{"id":2021468,"date":"2025-09-14T17:42:31","date_gmt":"2025-09-14T17:42:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2021468"},"modified":"2025-09-14T17:42:31","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T17:42:31","slug":"former-reading-royals-defenseman-joins-allen-americans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/former-reading-royals-defenseman-joins-allen-americans\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Reading Royals Defenseman Joins Allen Americans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-ssr-remove-style=\"true\" id=\"post-editor-content-PriJMkNa0Rj7dyt8Wf6q\">\n<div data-ssr=\"post-content\" class=\"editorjs-container undefined\">\n<p>The <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehockeynews.com\/echl\/players\/americans-make-two-key-additions-for-2025-26\">Allen Americans<\/a>, along with head coach and general manager Steve Martinson, have announced the signing of defenseman Sam Sedley for the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n<p>The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defenseman joins the Americans for his sophomore season of professional hockey after playing in 62 games last year with the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehockeynews.com\/echl\/players\/royals-sign-2025-kelly-cup-champion-defenseman\">Reading Royals <\/a>(seven goals and 30 assists for 37 points).<\/p>\n<p>Sedley is an elite right-shot offensive defenseman, and Martinson compares his production to that of former Americans blueliner Les Lancaster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur defense is extremely skilled, and we anticipate being a high- flying unit out of our zone with a four-man attack,\u201d Martinson noted.<\/p>\n<p>The native of Stratford, Ontario played his junior hockey with Owen Sound of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehockeynews.com\/ohl\/\">Ontario Hockey League<\/a>. Over his four seasons with the club, he put up 168 points in 236 games.<\/p>\n<p>Sedley finished third on the team in scoring in 2023-24, with 63 points in 64 games.<\/p>\n<p>Sedley played in two <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thehockeynews.com\/ahl\/\">American Hockey League <\/a>games last season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
