While the \u201cArrows\u201d singer has been in Nashville for the past six or so years honing her country craft, she\u2019s what some might call the next big thing\u2014and now, she\u2019s taking her iconic country look and sound beyond the soundstage and straight to Netflix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On Monday, September 8, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/09\/jessica-chastain-john-hawkes-carter-faith-heartland-1236510838\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Deadline;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em><u>Deadline <\/u><\/em><\/a>reported that Carter is joining Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain and Oscar-nominated actor John Hawkes in the Netflix mystery thriller film, <em>Heartland<\/em>\u2014not to be confused with the 18-season, Alberta, Canada-set series of the same name.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The same day, Carter confirmed the news on Instagram. \u201cthey\u2019re gonna put me in the moviessssss\ud83d\udcabcraziest thing ever to say that i\u2019m gonna be in a movie???? HEARTLAND coming soon to @netflix \u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f\u2764\ufe0f,\u201d she captioned a photo of herself holding the script, along with a screengrab of the <em>Deadline<\/em> story.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to <em>Deadline<\/em>, <em>Heartland<\/em> \u201cfollows Misty Jones (Chastain), a former country star who comes out of seclusion to investigate the disappearance of her missing niece (Faith), herself a rising country musician.
