The 77th annual Emmy Awards<\/a> were a night for major star-studded moments, one of which was the highly anticipated Gilmore Girls<\/a><\/em> reunion with stars Lauren Graham<\/a> and Alexis Bledel<\/a>, who presented the award for Best Writing for a Comedy Series.<\/p>\n While the reunion was a sweet nod to the show\u2019s landmark anniversary, it also made way for the reveal of a surprising behind-the-scenes rivalry with\u00a0ER<\/a><\/em>. But how so? It might surprise fans.<\/p>\n \u201cTwenty-five years ago, a show called\u00a0Gilmore Girls<\/em> premiered and apparently took the season of fall hostage,\u201d Graham began the presentation segment.<\/p>\n \u201cIn spite of our autumnal dominance,\u201d Bledel continued, adding that Gilmore Girls<\/em> \u201cwas actually a very small show.\u201d In other words, as Graham put it, \u201cwe had no money,\u201d and Bledel further drove that point home as she added \u201cnothing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf there was a birthday at The Drew Carey Show<\/a><\/em> next door, they would send us their leftover sheet cake\u2026 We walked in circles in Burbank, saying, \u2018Hey, look how Connecticut it is here today?’\u201d Graham remembered.<\/p>\n \u201cWe saved up all year long to have one snow episode,\u201d Bledel continued. But according to the stars,\u00a0Gilmore Girls<\/em>\u2018 penny-pinching for its budget made them envious of hit medical drama\u00a0ER, <\/em>as Graham noted that whenever they\u2019d shoot their snow episode, \u201cER<\/em> would wet down their street and wash it all away.\u201d<\/p>\n The funniest part of the bit? The camera landed on former\u00a0ER<\/em> star Noah Wyle<\/a>, who was attending as a nominee for the newest hit medical drama, The Pitt<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have got to let that go,\u201d Bledel insisted, but Graham wouldn\u2019t budge. \u201cThey had Clooney.
