Multiple celebrities were left out of the In Memoriam at the 2025 Emmy Awards<\/a>, with Val Kilmer<\/a> and Gene Hackman<\/a> among the two biggest snubs of the night.<\/p>\n Phylicia Rashad<\/a> honored Malcolm-Jamal Warner<\/a>, with whom she was on The Cosby Show<\/a>, before Lainey Wilson<\/a> and Vince Gill<\/a> paid tribute to the actors who died in 2025 with Gill\u2019s song \u201cGo Rest High on That Mountain,\u201d which he wrote to honor his late brother. They were joined by a choir.<\/p>\n Others that were left out were Hulk Hogan<\/a>, Polly Holiday<\/a>, Duck Dynasty<\/a>\u2018s Phil Robertson<\/a>, Squid Game<\/a> actress Lee Joo-sil<\/a>, Jeff Baena,<\/a> Tony Todd<\/a>, and Connie Francis<\/a>.<\/p>\n The In Memoriam segment honored the celebrities who died over the past year, including those who passed away after last year\u2019s Emmys on September 15.<\/p>\n The segment also honored Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>,\u00a0Michelle Trachtenberg<\/a>, Maggie Smith<\/a>, Quincy Jones<\/a>, and more.<\/p>\n Val Kilmer died<\/a> on April 2 at the age of 65 from pneumonia caused by throat cancer.\u00a0 Though best remembered for his film career, Kilmer also left his mark on television with appearances in The Choe Show, the Knight Rider reboot, and a memorable guest turn on Entourage<\/a>, to name a few.<\/p>\n Gene Hackman was found dead<\/a> with his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, in their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home, on February 26. He reportedly died of cardiovascular disease<\/a> with Alzheimer\u2019s as a factor, according to the chief medical examiner for the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator. Although mostly a film actor, Hackman starred in a few TV shows, including classics such as I, Spy and The Defenders.<\/p>\n However, celebrities that were not shown on TV were honored on the Emmys website in their full In Memoriam tribute.<\/a><\/p>\n Fans reacted to the snubs.<\/p>\n
