During the Emmys, \u201cGilmore Girls<\/a>\u201d stars Lauren Graham<\/a> and Alexis Bledel<\/a> presented the award for comedy writing together in honor of the show\u2019s 25th anniversary, during which they praised their beloved series\u2019 writers \u2014 and made fun of its low budget.<\/p>\n

\u201c25 years ago, a show called \u2018Gilmore Girls\u2019 premiered, and apparently took the season of fall hostage,\u201d Graham said, referencing how the show\u2019s fans often rewatch it annually beginning in September. Bledel added, \u201cIn spite of our autumnal dominance, \u2018Gilmore<\/a> was actually a very small show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMeaning we had no money,\u201d Graham clarified. \u201cIf there was a birthday at \u2018The Drew Carey show\u2019 next door, they would send us their leftover sheet cake.\u201d Bledel concurred: \u201cWe looked hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Graham continued: \u201cWe walked in circles in Burbank saying \u2018Hey, look how Connecticut it is here today!\u2019 before Bledel explained, \u201cWe saved up…<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
