James Marsden<\/strong> recently opened up about reprising his role as Cyclops<\/strong> in Avengers: Doomsday <\/strong>and shared how it feels to return after two decades. In a new interview, Marsden described the excitement of stepping back onto a Marvel set.<\/p>\n James Marsden reacted to his return as Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday when asked about the role by Variety. Reflecting on the experience of stepping back into the Marvel universe after two decades, Marsden said, \u201cIt\u2019s exciting. You can feel that it\u2019s something special. You can feel the world is ready for this movie and these worlds to kind of collide.\u201d He acknowledged the anticipation of fans who have waited for the Avengers and X-Men crossover to take shape.<\/p>\n When asked what it was like to walk on the set of an Avengers movie 20 years later, Marsden admitted, \u201cI thought there was a chance, but I think once 10 years pass and then 20 years pass, it was like, well, that was a nice idea.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cBut now, you know, I guess they\u2019re just waiting for us all to get a little gray in the hair and long in the tooth to bring us back.\u201d At that moment, the Variety interviewer added with a laugh, \u201cMCU is the Gray C.U.,\u201d in reference to the cast\u2019s older return.<\/p>\n In a separate interview with Vanity Fair<\/a>, Marsden reflected on the significance of his comeback. \u201cI was excited because you\u2019re a part of something gigantic, and I\u2019ve spent 20 years listening to people say, \u2018When are you coming back? Are you coming back? I\u2019m dead. Well, maybe not.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n He explained, \u201cIt\u2019s been a nice little homecoming to a role that really put me on the map. It was the first real event project that I was ever a part of, and a very beloved character, this icon from the comics.\u201d<\/p>\n Marsden last played Cyclops in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
