The Man in My Basement, directed by <strong>Nadia Latif<\/strong> in her feature debut, adapts Walter Mosley\u2019s novel and stars <strong>Corey Hawkins<\/strong> (Straight Outta Compton, Kong: Skull Island) stars as Charles Blakey, a man on the brink of losing his ancestral home when a mysterious white businessman offers to rent out his basement for a summer, played by <strong>Willem Dafoe <\/strong>(Spider-Man, Nosefaratu). The arrangement seems like salvation but quickly spirals into a haunting confrontation with race, history, and moral compromise. The film examines themes of gender, power, and tech culture.
