Sof\u00eda Vergara<\/strong> had to cancel plans to join her fellow Hollywood stars at the 2025 Emmy Awards after a health scare landed her in the emergency room.<\/p>\n \u201cDidn’t make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER,\u201d the Modern Family alum, 53, captioned her Sunday, September 14, Instagram post. \u201cSorry I had to cancel! Craziest eye [allergy] right before getting in the car!\u201d<\/p>\n Sof\u00eda shared a photo of her swollen eye that was more than halfway shut. She also included a video of her lying on a hospital bed, sulking in her untimely health flare. However, she attempted to relieve her pain and swelling by holding her eye under running water.<\/p>\n Friends and fans of the Griselda actress sent her messages of healing and warm wishes in the comments section of the post.<\/p>\n \u201cOh no! Get well soon!\u201d Sof\u00eda\u2019s fellow America\u2019s Got Talent star Terry Crews<\/strong> wrote.<\/p>\n DJ Diplo<\/strong> echoed Terry\u2019s message, while Snoop Dogg<\/strong> left a hand prayer emoji.<\/p>\n \u201cAwww blessed. Hope your little eye gets better,\u201d a fan commented. \u201cYes he looks pretty inflamed. To the orders if it doesn’t get better.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Sof\u00eda wasn\u2019t nominated for an Emmy award this year, she was set to present an award to a fellow actor. One day before her scheduled appearance at the Emmys, Sof\u00eda was living her best life in Las Vegas while watching the Terence Crawford<\/strong> and Canelo Alvarez <\/strong>boxing match.<\/p>\n Sof\u00eda was nominated for four Emmy awards in the category Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in Modern Family between 2010 and 2013. She was most recently recognized and nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her portrayal of late Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco in 2024. Sof\u00eda’s nomination made history as she was the first Latina to be nominated in the category.<\/p>\n “It was a surprise for me to be nominated,” the Soul Plane star told E!
