Dancing With the Stars<\/a> judge Derek Hough<\/strong> made his red carpet debut as the host of the celebrity TV news series Extra at the 77th annual Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n Hough turned heads in a sleek black tuxedo, with a white shirt, dress shoes and no socks on the red carpet. On his lapel, he accessorized with a brooch featuring two stars connected with a chain.<\/p>\n This marks the six-time mirrorball champion\u2019s first time attending the Emmy Awards as the host of Extra. There, he will be interviewing celebrities throughout the evening.<\/p>\n The Dancing With the Stars judge is no stranger to the red carpet. He is a multiple Emmy winner for his work on the ABC reality competition dance series.<\/p>\n According to the Television Academy’s website<\/a>, Hough has been nominated 13 times overall. He has won four times; his most recent win was in the Outstanding Choreography category in 2023 for the routine “Higher.”<\/p>\n He holds the title of the most awarded male ballroom dancer in Dancing With the Stars history. Hough joined the show as a pro in Season 5 back in 2007 and competed until 2016. In 2020, he returned to the franchise as a judge, a role he continues to hold today.<\/p>\n The dance pro earned his first Emmy in 2013 for the routine \u201cHey Pachuco \/ Para Los Rumberos \/ Walking on Air,\u201d followed by a win in 2015 for \u201cElastic Heart.\u201d He went on to win again in 2021 for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming, and most recently in 2023.<\/p>\n The new season of Dancing With the Stars begins on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
