Stephen Colbert <\/strong>used his acceptance speech at the Emmys 2025<\/strong> to honor his late colleague and friend, Amy Cole<\/strong>, who passed away last year. Cole had worked with Colbert on several projects. The list includes The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/strong>, for which he picked up the award.<\/p>\n Stephen Colbert<\/a> won the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series at the 2025 Emmy Awards for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Colbert took the stage to thank his family and crew before paying tribute to Amy Cole, his longtime collaborator.<\/p>\n Colbert said, \u201cI want to dedicate this to my mom and dad, her mom and dad, and a young woman who should be here tonight, Amy Cole,\u201d referring to his colleague of years. Cole and Colbert reportedly worked together for over 16 years. Cole worked on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out the News, and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. She later joined The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.<\/p>\n She passed away in March 2024 at the age of 53. According to Deadline<\/a>, she had been battling cancer. Colbert had previously paid tribute to her on his show. She was also featured in the \u201cIn Memoriam\u201d segment at the 76th Creative Arts Emmy Awards in 2024.<\/p>\n Colbert<\/a> also addressed other things during his acceptance speech. \u201cPersonally, I want to thank my beautiful, brilliant wife Evelyn [McGee-Colbert] who\u2019s the real brains of the outfit, and my three children \u2014 Madeline, Peter and John,\u201d he said. This came two months after CBS canceled his show.<\/p>\n He also added, \u201cSometimes you only truly know how much you love something when you get a sense that you might be losing it. In September of 2025, my friends, I have never loved my country more desperately. God bless America.
