Japanese juggernaut \u201cDemon Slayer<\/a>: Kimetsu no Yaiba \u2013 The Movie: Infinity Castle\u201d remained on top of the Korean box office for a fourth weekend, grossing $2.6 million from 330,444 admissions between Sept. 12\u201314.<\/p>\n According to KOBIS, the tracking service operated by the Korean Film Council, the anime adaptation has now earned $34.8 million locally. Directed and written by Yeon Sang-ho, the film stars Park Jeong-min alongside Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-been, Im Seong-jae, and Han Ji-hyun. The plot follows Dong-hwan, the son of a visually impaired seal engraving master, who discovers skeletal remains and investigates the long-hidden truth about his mother\u2019s disappearance four decades earlier.<\/p>\n In third place by dint of 78,063 admissions, Brad Pitt racing drama \u201cF1\u201d earned $415,168, pushing its cumulative total to $38.6 million. \u201cThe Conjuring: Last Rites\u201d placed fourth with $582,016, reaching $2.7 million since its Sept. 3 release. Korean crime drama \u201cMurder Report\u201d followed closely in fifth, grossing $537,690 for a $2.1 million cume. Directed by Cho Young-jun and starring Cho Yeo-jeong and Jung Sung-il, the film follows a reporter who agrees to interview a serial killer claiming responsibility for 11 murders.<\/p>\n Korean film \u201cMy Daughter is a Zombie\u201d ranked sixth with $237,129, lifting its total to $37.9 million. New local entry, the horror film \u201cHomecam,\u201d landed at No. 7 with $287,052, while the re-release of \u201cPrincess Mononoke\u201d collected $238,734 for a $437,239 cume.<\/p>\n At No. 9, documentary sequel \u201cThe Birth of Korea 2\u201d opened with $105,638 from 14,149 admissions. The film examines Korea\u2019s modern history, particularly the founding of the Republic of Korea, following on from its predecessor.<\/p>\n Chinese romance \u201cJust For Meeting You\u201d rounded out the chart with $93,327 for a total of $912,836. Directed by Liu Yulin, the film stars Liu Haocun as Xu Nian Nian and Song Weilong as Yang Yi.
