For a long time, Sharon Case<\/span><\/strong> was afraid that The Young and the Restless<\/strong><\/a> producers would fire her. While celebrating her 30th anniversary on the show, Case recalled a time when she was afraid that her time on the show was coming to an end soon.<\/p>\n Sharon Case has now played Sharon Collins on The Young and the Restless for over 30 years. She first appeared on the show on September 14, 1994. She wasn\u2019t the first to play the role, but she was surely the one who impressed the viewers the most.<\/p>\n By the time Case appeared on The Young and the Restless, she had acted in General Hospital and As the World Turns. Although they were popular shows, those roles didn\u2019t help her achieve much success. But after joining Y&R, her life changed completely. However, despite having a good role, the actress didn\u2019t think that she would be on the show for too long.<\/p>\n In an interview with Soap.com<\/a>, Case recalled her early days of the show. \u201cI mean, I hoped. I thought the character of Nick Newman, being the son of Victor and Nikki, could go [for all these years]. But I didn\u2019t even know if that would happen. It\u2019s not necessarily how these things work.\u201d<\/p>\n She admitted, \u201cActors think that [they\u2019re getting cut] every single day, no matter what happens. Like, somebody breaks a nail, and you think, \u2018That\u2019s it, I\u2019m getting fired!\u2019\u201d She further added, \u201cYou\u2019re always just hoping for the best. My viewpoint was to just do my best at all times, then no matter what happens, you don\u2019t have any regrets. You can\u2019t have any!\u201d<\/p>\n She explained how the role changed her confidence. \u201cI couldn\u2019t say I always felt this way throughout the years, but I do now feel like I could play anything. I wouldn\u2019t have said that before,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n She concludes by saying, \u201cI thought, \u2018Well, you know, every actor has their sort of sphere, their genre that they can play in, and that\u2019s what they\u2019re capable of doing.
