The couple confirmed their engagement during an exclusive interview with E! News<\/a> during the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday evening, Sept. 14. <\/p>\n After referring to Linn as McEntire\u2019s fianc\u00e9 and her cast mate on the NBC sitcom, the country music<\/a> legend said, “We\u2019re having a blast on \u2018Happy\u2019s Place\u2019 and so glad to be here tonight.”<\/p>\n Linn and McEntire first met in the 1990s but started dating in 2020 after reconnecting on \u201cYoung Sheldon,\u201d in which they both had recurring roles, E! News reported. <\/p>\n The couple had attended the Emmys to celebrate the 40th anniversary of \u201cThe Golden Girls,\u201d with McEntire performing a musical tribute. <\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a show that you can watch forever,\u201d she told Linn, per E! News, before he jokingly chimed in, \u201cIf you\u2019re not a fan of \u2018The Golden Girls,\u2019 it would be like not liking puppies.\u201d<\/p>\n McEntire also hinted that she and Linn have been “pretty much inseparable<\/a> ever since June 16 of 2020.”<\/p>\n \u201cIt was just like a magnet,\u201d she told E!
