The 2025 Emmys<\/a> honored stars who died this year \u2014 but not everyone was included<\/a> in the package that was shown on screen.<\/p>\n During the Sunday, September 14, awards show, The Cosby Show<\/em>\u2018s Phylicia Rashad<\/strong> introduced the segment while paying tribute to Malcolm-Jamal Warner<\/strong>, her late onscreen son.<\/a><\/p>\n Vince Gill <\/strong>and Lainey Wilson<\/strong> then took the stage to perform \u201cGo Rest High on That Mountain\u201d as Maggie Smith, Michelle Trachtenberg, Ozzy Osbourne, David Lynch, Quincy Jones, Anne Burrell<\/strong> and more TV icons were highlighted.<\/p>\n There were a few fallen stars \u2014 including Hulk Hogan, Jerry Adler, Danielle Spencer, Jonathan Joss <\/strong>and Terence Stamp<\/strong> \u2014 who were omitted from the live tribute.<\/p>\n The broadcast also didn\u2019t mention Gene Hackman <\/strong>and Val Kilmer<\/strong>, with their names being included as part of a longer dedication on the Emmys website.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Hogan died at age 71 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Us Weekly<\/em> later confirmed that the former wrestler died from acute myocardial infarction.<\/p>\n Hogan was best known for his work<\/a> with WWE and World Championship Wrestling. After getting his start in the \u201970s, he became a five-time WWF Champion and was the first wrestler to win consecutive Royal Rumble matches. Hogan expanded his career into the film and TV worlds, with his own series, Thunder in Paradise, premiering in 1994.<\/p>\n Hogan was first inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and was recognized a second time in 2020 as a member of the nWo.<\/p>\n Hackman, whose career spanned decades, was found dead alongside wife Betsy Arakawa in their New Mexico home in February. It was later confirmed that Arakawa died first as a result of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. Hackman, meanwhile, died due to hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease with Alzheimer\u2019s disease as a significant contributing factor.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy. He was loved and admired by millions around the world for his brilliant acting career, but to us, he was always just Dad and Grandpa,\u201d Hackman\u2019s family told Us in a statement. \u201cWe will miss him sorely and are devastated by the loss.\u201d<\/p>\n
