{"id":2023718,"date":"2025-09-15T14:02:41","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T14:02:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2023718"},"modified":"2025-09-15T14:02:41","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T14:02:41","slug":"are-wicked-stars-ariana-grande-and-cynthia-erivo-coming-to-singapore-to-promote-film-sequel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/are-wicked-stars-ariana-grande-and-cynthia-erivo-coming-to-singapore-to-promote-film-sequel\/","title":{"rendered":"Are Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo coming to Singapore to promote film sequel?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">SINGAPORE \u2013 The cast of musical film Wicked: For Good (2025) is reportedly coming to Singapore, according to a singing contest taking place in the Philippines organised by Universal Pictures Philippines.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">In a TikTok post dated Sept 9, the movie studio wrote that contestants will \u201cget a chance to sing the Philippines\u2019 rendition of For Good, appear in the music video and meet the stars\u201d of the film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">For Good is a duet performed by Elphaba \u2013 who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West and is played by British actress-singer Cynthia Erivo \u2013 and Glinda, who becomes Glinda the Good and is played by American singer-actress Ariana Grande.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Social media posts about the contest from Philippines cinema chain SM Cinema added that contestants stand a chance to win \u201can all-expenses-paid trip to Singapore and meet the cast of Wicked\u201d. <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Contestants are required to record their entries at audition stations in SM Mall of Asia, a chain of malls in the Philippines, from Sept 19 to Oct 5 and upload them on TikTok.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The winners will be decided by Wicked: For Good director Jon M. Chu, Grande and Erivo. The sequel to Wicked (2024) opens in Singapore cinemas on Nov 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">When contacted about the possibility of a press tour here, local distributor United International Pictures Singapore declined to confirm or deny the rumours.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">Chu says in Universal Pictures Philippines\u2019 TikTok post on the contest: \u201cWicked: For Good is a heartwarming ode to friendship that tells the story of how Elphaba and Glinda have profoundly changed each other\u2019s lives, and we want to hear you sing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">He adds: \u201cWe are calling on you to grab your best friend and channel Elphaba and Glinda by singing your own rendition of For Good. A special surprise awaits the three pairs whose renditions moved Cynthia, Ariana and I the most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-body-baseline-regular text-primary\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-annotation-test-id\">The Wicked films are based on the hit 2003 Broadway musical, which has roots in the 1900 classic novel The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz by American author L.
