Charlie Sheen<\/strong> is leaving no stone unturned while delving into gory detail about his sordid past<\/a> \u2013 and it\u2019s all too much for long-suffering dad Martin Sheen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An insider tells Star that Martin, 85, is begging the reformed wild man to \u201cgrow up and get serious for once in his life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCharlie\u2019s enjoying the excitement surrounding his book and taking a victory lap for all his atrocious behavior; he\u2019s certainly not apologizing for it,\u201d the insider says. \u201cHe\u2019s making jokes out of what was a dark time, not only for him, but for his loved ones, his dad especially. The way he took a swipe at Martin was insensitive to say the least.\u201d<\/p>\n

On September 10, Charlie, 60, released his memoir, The Book of Sheen<\/a>, and while promoting the book, he discussed the moment he realized his dad had turned him in to the police for a parole violation in 1998 after he overdosed on drugs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like the biggest betrayal you can possibly endure,\u201d the Two and a Half Men alum told Michael Strahan<\/strong> on Good Morning America<\/a> of his father\u2019s actions. \u201cI saw it as love eventually, but in the moment, it\u2019s like in the book when my bodyguard comes to the door and he says, \u2018The U.S. Marshalls are on the way. We\u2019re leaving in 5.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The West Wing alum \u201cdoesn\u2019t want to deprive Charlie of his success for having written the book,\u201d notes the insider, but he\u2019s annoyed by \u201chow Charlie brags about all the drugs and hookers he had.\u201d<\/p>\n
