On Sunday night, there was a new comedy in town to nab a ton of Emmys Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Apple TV+\u2019s \u201cThe Studio,\u201d a new Seth Rogen-led series which hilariously mocks Hollywood\u2019s film industry, broke an Emmy-winning record previously set by FX\u2019s \u201cThe Bear.\u201d \u201cThe Studio\u201d won 13 awards Sunday, blasting past the mark set by \u201cThe Bear\u201d for its second season, when it won 11 Emmys.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After years of fans and critics of the series shouting about \u201cThe Bear<\/a>\u201d committing category fraud, it seems Emmys voters have finally listened. For the first time in what feels like forever, the FX kitchen series didn\u2019t dominate the comedy categories Sunday night. In fact, quite the opposite happened, as \u201cThe Studio\u201d and \u201cHacks\u201d divvied up the awards, and rightfully so. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the end, \u201cThe Bear\u201d ended up missing out on all 13 of its nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Here\u2019s what we said about the losses on Sunday night:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I can\u2019t say I\u2019m not thrilled about the outcome. Don\u2019t get me wrong, I love \u201cThe Bear,\u201d but perhaps this sweep by \u201cThe Studio\u201d will teach the show to start submitting for a more appropriate category moving forward, aka drama, where it belongs! <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I will say it does suck that the \u201cNapkins\u201d episode, directed by Ayo Edebiri, lost because that was a brilliant episode of television. And considering that \u201cThe Bear\u201d actually dialed up the comedy this most recent season, it\u2019ll be interesting to see where it gets nominated next year. Either way, a lesson was learned tonight. \u2014 Njera<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What I\u2019ve also had to remind myself is that this Emmy season, it was Season 3 that was up for nominations. It was an overall lackluster season \u2014 aside from that \u201cNapkins\u201d episode that Edebiri directed. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Season 4 fared way better in my book, so there\u2019s always next year\u2019s Emmy ceremony for the show. Here\u2019s hoping that FX and the show\u2019s creators and producers decide to put it up for the Drama categories. PLEASE, chef! \u2014 Erin<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
