World of Reels\u2019 report notes that the move comes after \u201cweeks of negotiation,\u201d and that DiCaprio might have a busy year, as he could be set to film both Heat 2 and a film with Martin Scorsese next year<\/a>.<\/p>\n The latest Heat 2 report comes just a month after reports surfaced that Warner Bros. and director Michael Mann seemed to be at odds about the film. The report at the time suggested that Mann had initially come in with a budget of over $200 million, with Warner Bros. hoping to keep the budget lower.<\/p>\n On top of that, the report suggested that Heat 2\u2019s script could be sent to Apple to partner on Mann\u2019s movie. The book is a prequel and sequel to the 1995 movie, Heat. The prequel is set in Chicago in 1988, with Detective Vincent Hanna working to catch a ruthless gangster. Concurrently, Neil McCauley, Chris Shiherlis, and Michael Cerrito are planning their next score.<\/p>\n The book then picks up in 1995, moments after the events of the movie, with Chris on the run from Vincent.
