\u201cJust be honest with me,\u201d Brad Garrett<\/a> asked his \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond<\/a>\u201d co-star Ray Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAm I gonna make the cut?<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n Emmy winner Garrett, who was at the 77th Emmys<\/a> with Romano to present the award for outstanding comedy series, was talking about the show\u2019s \u201cIn Memoriam\u201d reel.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a part of each ceremony where talents who have died are honored on the big screen. But not everyone makes \u201cthe cut\u201d to be on the broadcast \u2014 some remembrances are reserved for the Television Academy\u2019s online memorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n Two actors left off CBS\u2019 Emmys broadcast<\/a> this year are tied to New Jersey either because they were from here or because of their show\u2019s place in pop culture.<\/p>\n Both of them died weeks before the 2025 Emmys<\/a>.<\/p>\n The memorial segment started with a tribute to Jersey City native Malcolm-Jamal Warner<\/a> from his \u201cCosby Show\u201d TV mother, Phylicia Rashad<\/a>.<\/p>\n Warner, who played Theo Huxtable on the show, died<\/a> suddenly July 20, after drowning on a Costa Rica vacation. He was 54.<\/p>\n DS<\/p>\n But Danielle Spencer<\/a>, who starred as Deadra \u201cDee\u201d Thomas<\/a> on the ABC comedy series \u201cWhat\u2019s Happening!!<\/a>\u201d was not included in the reel.<\/p>\n Spencer, a Trenton<\/a> native, was 60 when she died of cancer<\/a> Aug. 11.<\/p>\n After playing Dee as a child starting in 1976, when she was 11 years old, Spencer returned to the character in \u201cWhat\u2019s Happening Now!!<\/a>\u201d in the 1980s.<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/b>N.J. native Danielle Spencer, \u2018What\u2019s Happening!!\u2019 child star who played Dee, dies at 60<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Spencer later became a veterinarian<\/a> who played one onscreen in James L.
