For someone who\u2019s not a chef, Selena Gomez is leaving a rather distinguished culinary footprint.<\/p>\n
On Sept. 9, the multi-hyphenate appeared on \u201cGood Hang<\/a>,\u201d a podcast hosted by Amy Poehler where celebrities and \u201cfun people\u201d sit down for interviews with the \u201cSNL\u201d alumna.<\/p>\n During Gomez\u2019s hang, the \u201cOnly Murders in the Building\u201d star dished on her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short<\/a>, her billion-dollar makeup brand Rare Beauty and a fact that she finds startling<\/a>: that people assume she is a chef because of her HBO Max show \u201cSelena + Chef.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI love when people say you are a chef because you had a cooking show,\u201d Gomez said. \u201cThe idea and the concept of the show is that I simply don\u2019t know how. And I think over a few seasons, it\u2019s safe to say I still don\u2019t know how, because it was incredible recipes that were so intricate.\u201d<\/p>\n Gomez added that while the tasks were \u201cchallenging\u201d \u2014 episodes frequently showed her making mistakes on her own<\/a> in the kitchen \u2014 they were also \u201cfun.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d get it right, but it would take me five to seven hours to do it,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n Poehler then asked the \u201cWizards of Waverly Place\u201d star a follow-up question: \u201cWhat\u2019s a meal that you know to cook and you cook?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOh, my nana\u2019s chicken and dumplings<\/a>,\u201d Gomez replied without hesitation.<\/p>\n Chicken and Dumplings<\/a> by Casey Barber<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a very Southern dish. It\u2019s very good,\u201d she added, explaining that the recipe contains biscuits, shredded chicken and soup. \u201cIt\u2019s the best cozy weather dish.
