The country music icon and longtime boyfriend Rex Linn are now engaged, according to People Magazine.<\/b><\/a> McEntire, 70, and Linn, 68, have been dating since 2020, but they first met back in the 1990s. <\/p>\n People cited a source as saying that the engagement \u201chappened a few months ago and they are very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n McEntire revealed how she and Linn reconnected following her mother\u2019s death.<\/p>\n \u201cIn 2020, when mama got sick, he called me,\u201d she told Today in 2021. \u201cWe\u2019d gotten to see each other before because we\u2019re both on \u2018Young Sheldon.\u2019 So starting in March of 2020, we just kept talking and visiting and finally got together, see each other in June. <\/p>\n \u201cAnd we\u2019ve been pretty much inseparable ever since.\u201d<\/p>\n And earlier this year she opened up more about the relationship with Fox News.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a better cook than I am, so I like that, for sure,\u201d she said. \u201cWe have Longhorns, we love the cowboy way of life, cowgirl way of life, and we both got into the entertainment industry. <\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s an actor. I\u2019m a singer. I love to act. Now we act together.\u201d<\/p>\n Linn currently stars on McEntire\u2019s sitcom \u201cHappy\u2019s Place.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are best friends,\u201d he said in an interview with WBIR Channel 10. \u201cWe wanna cross the finish line with each other in a relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n The tip-off on the engagement apparently came on the 2025 Emmy Awards red carpet on Sunday when the two were referred to as fianc\u00e9s by an E!
