Filming is taking place at the Gold Coast\u2019s Village Roadshow Studios, where key scenes will make use of the facility\u2019s water tank. While the release date has not been confirmed, reports suggest the film is expected to arrive sometime next year.<\/p>\n Screen Queensland announced that Subversion will also feature Lily James, Michael Pe\u00f1a, Simone Kessell, Robert John Burke, and David Wenham. He is forced to pilot a submarine carrying illegal cargo across dangerous international waters. He finds himself in a tense confrontation with a Coast Guard officer, played by Lily James, as he faces life-threatening challenges both inside the vessel and on the open sea.<\/p>\n The film is directed by Patrick Vollrath, with a screenplay by Andrew Ferguson.
