I would record the session and then go by myself and rent a studio myself and train myself to, illegally, like, spent time over.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bones competed with former <em>DWTS<\/em> pro <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/people\/sharna-burgess\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sharna Burgess;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sharna Burgess<\/a> on Season 27 in 2018. While on the show, Bones said he squeezed in extra rehearsal time into his already busy schedule. \u201cI was still doing the radio show every day, waking up at 3 a.m. in LA and touring, doing standup on the weekends,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd so, it was the hardest part of my life, as far as how difficult it was to just eat, stay hydrated, and work, and think in a normal manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He continued, \u201cI started to dance, and I wasn\u2019t in any way polarizing on the show other than I sucked. Because I didn\u2019t run out and like, \u2018I\u2019m the best.\u2019 I tried as hard as I could. And I got sevens, a couple of sixes, a couple of eights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bones\u2019 time on <em>DWTS<\/em> sparked controversy, as he continued advancing in the\u00a0competition despite earning lower scores than some competitors. \u201cPeople like traditional dancers. You ain\u2019t gonna like me because I have no idea what I\u2019m doing. I was very transparent about that on the show. Normal people don\u2019t complain on Instagram. I think the quote from one of the executives was, \u2018I could have peed on stage in my final dance and won.\u2019 But they never told me that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Following his controversial win, <em>DWTS<\/em> made changes to the voting system to better balance judges\u2019 scores and fan votes. In addition to requiring voting to occur during the show\u2019s East Coast airtime, the show introduced the Judges\u2019 Save for Season 28, allowing a judge to save a pair from elimination.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThey didn\u2019t ever want me to happen again, because I was kicking good people off.
