Colin Farrell is refusing to believe his son will follow in his acting footsteps<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
The Penguin<\/em> actor revealed to Extra <\/em>that his son Henry, 15, is “busy figuring out what his own footsteps are” to follow behind his actor dad<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Farrell and his teenage son recently made a rare appearance on the red carpet together at the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Colin Farrell<\/a> doesn’t think that either of his sons will follow in his footsteps.<\/p>\n While chatting with Extra<\/em><\/a> at the New York City premiere of A Big Bold Beautiful Journey<\/em> on Monday, Sept. 15, The Penguin <\/em>star, 49, shared that he doesn’t think his son Henry, 15,<\/a> will be following in his acting footsteps.<\/p>\n “I know he’s busy figuring out what his own footsteps are, which is the most important thing,” he told the outlet, referring to his younger son, who walked the carpet with him at the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards<\/a>. “And even if he went into acting, it wouldn’t be \u2014 I refuse to believe they are my footsteps. He will always make his own.”<\/p>\n The A Big Bold Beautiful Journey <\/em>actor, who was in the running to take home the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, brought his son Henry to the Emmys with him. Farrell told Extra<\/em> that it was “great” spending the evening with his son.<\/p>\n “Both my boys living their own lives, but it’s great to share [a] night like last night with them,” he said. “[It] was fun. It was great having them there.”<\/p>\n Farrell and teenage son Henry walked the carpet together at the Emmys, wearing matching black suits. The proud dad wore a black suit with a white shirt and black bowtie, while the teen matched in a black suit of his own, pairing it with a black shirt and tie.<\/p>\n The father-son duo previously walked the carpet at the\u00a095th Academy Awards<\/a>\u00a0in 2023. Farrell, who was nominated for Best Actor for his role in\u00a0The Banshees of Inisherin<\/em>, was\u00a0photographed<\/a>\u00a0with his younger son, smiling together for the camera with their arms around one another.<\/p>\n The actor and Henry, whom Farrell shares with\u00a0Ondine\u00a0<\/em>costar Alicja Bachleda-Cur\u00fas, both wore black tuxedos for the special event.
