Longtime Hollywood icon and heartthrob, Robert Redford, has passed away at 89, according to multiple reports, including the New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n The \u201cButch Cassidy\u201d and \u201cAll the President\u2019s Men\u201d star died in his sleep at his home in the mountains outside of Provo, Utah this morning.<\/p>\n Redford won two Oscar Awards, including for Best Director for \u201cOrdinary People\u201d in 1984. He was also nominated for Best Director for \u201cQuiz Show\u201d in 1995 and for Best Actor for \u201cThe Sting\u201d in 1973.<\/p>\n Some of Redford\u2019s best movies include: \u201cAll is Lost,\u201d \u201cThe Sting,\u201d \u201cThe Natural,\u201d \u201cSneakers,\u201d \u201cOut of Africa,\u201d \u201cThe Chase,\u201d and \u201cThe Candidate.\u201d<\/p>\n Redford was also a big supporter of filmmakers, founding the Sundance Institute and then starting the Sundance Film Festival in 1984.<\/p>\n Redford is survived by his wife, daughters Shauna and Amy and multiple grandchildren.<\/p>\n Read the original article on NJ.com<\/a>.
