Mysuru: Mysuru royal family began preparations for the private Dasara festivities on Tuesday by assembling the golden throne at Amba Vilas, the ornate glass-roofed pavilion inside the Mysuru Palace.The throne, stored in the palace’s strong room, was brought out and assembled under tight security in the presence of the royal family matriarch Pramoda Devi Wadiyar. Prior to the assembly, religious rituals, including special pujas to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Chamundeshwari, along with homas, were performed in the Durbar Hall.As part of the arrangements, tourist entry into the palace was restricted until 1pm on Tuesday.The golden throne parts and the Bhadrasana were moved to the Durbar Hall for assembly. The Bhadrasana was placed in the Kannadi Thotti (glass pavilion) and will be affixed to the throne on the first day of Dasara on Sept 22 before the Khas Durbar.The golden throne will remain closed to the public until Sept 22, the formal beginning of the Dasara celebrations. On that day, the scion of the royal family, Yaduveer Wadiyar, will symbolically ascend the throne to conduct the traditional Khas Durbar.
